Cesena welcomes Filippo Bertaccini for Acquapartita camp

Cesena confirmed yesterday the return of Filippo Bertaccini, a 2007‑born midfielder, who will travel on Sunday to the Acquapartita pre‑season camp with the first team. After surgery for a brain neo‑formation on 24 February, the youngster completed five months of rehab and passed the final medicals at the A‑Medic centre on Via Veneto.

How did the comeback happen?

Bertaccini made his senior debut on 23 November 2025 against Monza. A few days later a scan revealed the neo‑formation, forcing the club to operate on him and sideline him for the rest of the season. The recovery was overseen by Dr Luigino Tosatto and his team, culminating yesterday with the last physical tests. He is now cleared to re‑join training, a key step for a squad looking to strengthen ahead of the new Serie B campaign.

What are the transfer moves?

Sporting director Andrea Mancini has returned to town and already opened talks to bolster midfield and attack. Among the targets are Daniel Caprini, a 2006‑born loanee from Fiorentina, and midfielder Lapo Deli, also from Fiorentina, who logged 31 appearances and two goals in Primavera 1 last season. From the same club, Marco Tilio, a 2002‑born striker with 108 games and 26 goals in Australia’s A‑League for Melbourne, could also join.

What does this mean for the squad?

The arrival of youngsters like Caprini and Deli could give more flexibility to the 4‑3‑5 system that coach Alessandro Alino Diamanti appears set to implement. The club is also eyeing goalkeeper Nicola Ravaglia, formerly of Pineto, to cover for Jonathan Klinsmann, expected back at year‑end. A possible return for Ravaglia, after 13 years, would also see him mentor the young Niccolò Fontana, son of a former Cesena player.

Who might leave?

While new signings are discussed, the club has already hinted at the possible departure of forward Massimiliano Mangraviti, who is being scouted by other Serie B sides. Fabio Artico, now at Empoli, is also mentioned as a potential destination for Mangraviti, recalling Artico’s role in bringing the player to Cesena two seasons ago.

What’s the next step?

Tomorrow the new head coach, Alessandro Alino Diamanti, will arrive in Cesena for medicals and the official presentation slated for Friday. The event will mark the start of a new technical era, with promises of a more attacking style. Meanwhile, Bertaccini will join the camp, ready to prove his full recovery and help drive the club’s growth project.

Why does it matter?

Bertaccini’s return is more than a morale boost for fans; it signals stability for the management. After a summer of uncertainty, the team appears poised to build a coherent plan, blending promising youth with fresh signings. Serie B looms, and Cesena wants to start with a complete, motivated roster.
